We are very excited to announce two very important promotions in the Destination Asia China team! Gaetan Verhegge has been promoted from Creative Product Manager to Creative Product Director, and Rebecca Yan from Senior Project Manager to Director of Meeting & Events.

Gaetan first encountered the breadth and depth of China during two brief stays in 2008 and 2010. Hungry for more, this intrepid Belgian decided to move back after receiving his degree from Ghent University. So in early 2012, he put on his backpack and hitchhiked all the way to Beijing where he has been living ever since. Gaetan’s first introduction to the travel industry was at an online travel agent start-up targeting the booming Chinese FIT market. Looking to share his passion for his adoptive country, Gaetan joined the Destination Asia family in the spring of 2016 to lead the company’s product development throughout China.

Rebecca Yan is a Senior Project Manager based in our Beijing office. She began her career in the hospitality industry in 2006. Since joining Destination Asia at the beginning of 2011, Rebecca has handled numerous events for many clients all over China. Her expertise lies in managing meetings, exhibitions and incentives for groups, from ground arrangements to F&B to accommodation negotiations. Her in-depth understanding of the dynamic intricacies and critical nature of these components have enabled customers secure the best value from their programs.
