The Mekong Tourism Forum provides a cooperative platform for the tourism industry to discuss the development, marketing and promotion of travel to, from and within the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), and monitor sustainable and responsible tourism growth. The forum is hosted by the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism (MICT) in UNESCO World Heritage Town Luang Prabang from June 6-9.
This year Destination Asia will join the Mekong Tourism Sector Strategy Open Forum to brainstorm how the tourism strategy could be effectively implemented over the next 10 years. The theme of the forum aligns with Destination Asia’s own approach to sustainability and corporate social responsibility pillars: ‘Working With Respect’, ‘A Community Member’, ‘Empowerment’ and ‘Environmental Care’.
In attendance from Destination Asia will be David Andrews, Destination Asia Group Marketing & Communications Director.
