A Taste of the Thai Countryside

Get to know the Thai countryside and learn more about the daily routines of Thai people during our ‘Taste of the Thai Countryside’ excursion. On this eye-opening visit we head to a local village close to Bangkok, stopping at a sugar palm factory, beautiful Buddhist temples and an organic farm to learn about Thai herbs and rice farming. After tasting a few delicious dishes, we take time to learn about this country’s magnificent culture through its cuisine and culinary traditions. The day moves at a relaxing pace so each person can absorb a genuine impression of Thai life, discover the beauty of its people, the culture and gain a love for Thai food.

The area we visit is famous for its sugar palm plantations, a natural sweetener for many of Thai dishes such as Pad Thai. See how farmers still climb the trees without support and harvest the seeds using traditional methods. At a garden restaurant watch a cooking demonstration as local chef cooks up some Pad Thai and Som Tam (papaya salad). Learn about the different ingredients before trying your own hand at making these dishes. After also working up an appetite, it’s time to sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
