Brief and Challenges:

The brief received from the client was to ‘see the world of Burma through the eyes of a medical professional’. The group also requested to visit local medical clinics in Inle Lake and Bagan. There is a lot of official red-tape in Burma regarding any kinds of special requests that include government bodies such as hospitals, universities, schools etc. Destination Asia Burma/Myanmar worked many months in advance and were successful in organizing the appropriate permissions for this group to access these medical facilities. Arrangements were made with a local optician in Bagan who, following a generous donation were able to take prescriptions and supply 100 pairs of glasses for young orphans from Zaytawun Monastery Orphanage.

The group also chartered the luxurious Belmond Road to Mandalay river cruise ship, sailing between Mandalay and the ancient capital city of Bagan. On visiting Inle Lake, delegates participated in a number of incentive activities, including volunteer work at a local medical clinic.

Feedback:

The client was particularly appreciative of all the additional extra touches made by Destination Asia and the exceptional attention to detail.
