We can now offer two exceptional ways to interact and enjoy the natural habitat of Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area in Northern Laos. These new ecotourism attractions include ‘The Nests’ and ‘The Cloud Forest Climb’. The projects are being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Wildlife Conservation Society. The Nests provide a revolutionary way to observe wildlife with a two or three day hiking holiday including overnight stays in cosy spherical baskets hanging from the trees – placing you in the heart of the jungle. The official opening of The Nests will take place in October 2016. ‘The Cloud Forest Climb’ is a more adventurous trekking option (four or five days), including ‘The Nests’, taking guests up to the summit of Phou Louey (Forever Mountain) to one of the few cloud forests in the region.
These new tours will be operated in collaboration with surrounding villages, directly benefiting 12 villages through a village development fund while encouraging local people to protect endangered wildlife.
