Family Run Workshops Provide Unique Insight

MICE_Burma_Woodcarving700x459Destination Asia Myanmar has developed an intriguing and authentic incentive for groups who wish to discover more than meets the eye in historical Rangoon. Delegates are transferred to Thaketa where their local art and lifestyle experience commences with a journey into the hidden arts of this enigmatic city.

Upon arrival, trishaws are ready to take guests to a rice straw painting workshop (bamboo reed picture making), as well as jade and woodcarving workshops. We also visit a small iron melting plant owned by a local family who purchase any damaged or disused iron, recycling it before selling again. All of these workshops are run by local families, which means that in addition to the art and craft, delegates can gain a unique insight to the traditional family structure in Myanmar.
