Inthar Cooking Class at Inle Heritage Restaurant

This is an excellent activity with ‘Giving Back’ to the local community at its heart. Working with the Inle Heritage Foundation (IHF), we can offer cooking classes with chefs that have gained their skills through vocational training provided by the foundation. The IHF’s mission is to assist in the sustainable development of the region by promoting Inle heritage and culture.

The cooking classes are ideal for those who really want to connect and discover the secrets of gastronomy in the Inle area. Working alongside a trained chef, each delegate will prepare authentic dishes at the renowned Inle Heritage Restaurant, using home-cooking methods and following traditional recipes.

Upon arrival, guests receive welcome drinks (Shan tea, fresh juices) and are shown around their cooking stations. Next, the chef of the Inle Heritage Restaurant will present a menu and explain all the various ingredients and cooking methods. After the introduction, a guided tour of the vegetable gardens introduces all the fresh ingredients are hand-picked for the meal. Back in the kitchen, we clean the vegetables and start cooking.

The program lasts approximately three and a half hours with a maximum capacity for 35 people. All profits from the Inle Heritage Restaurant and its activities go directly back into the Inle Heritage Hospitality Vocational Training Center.
