Responsible Tourism Focus in Cambodia

Asia Talk-Image_cambodiaThe southwest coastline of Cambodia presents travelers with a well-preserved ecosystem, stunning waters and authentic cultural encounters. To help preserve this charming destination, Destination Asia Cambodia is working with an eco-village in Kampot Province to provide exceptional activities that pose minimal threat to the surrounding environment. A portion of all proceeds go to providing environmental education and recreational therapy to Cambodian youth.

One activity attracting much attention is paddleboarding. Guests can try their hand with a stand up paddle (SUP), and navigate the waters of a mangrove conservation project – known locally as the Green Cathedral.  Following an afternoon session, visitors can then help plant new mangrove trees before cycling around a nearby island, taking in a spectacular sunset view over the Elephant Mountains.
