Royal Cremation Ceremony to Take Place in Bangkok Between 25 & 29 October 2017

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s cremation ceremony will take place in Bangkok between 25 and 29 October 2017. Out of respect for the late King our offices in Thailand will be closed on Thursday 26 October as the nation observes the Royal Cremation Rituals on this day.

Visitors over this period are requested to be respectful when out in public and to wear appropriate clothing in public (Bangkok). All visitors arriving in to the Kingdom over this period will be advised on the protocol at this time by our local destination staff. Across Thailand, entertainment venues, hotels and restaurants will remain open during this period but venues will be subdued. All planned festivities in Thailand will be cancelled over this period. During this time there’s likely to be significant disruption to traffic in central Bangkok, especially around the areas of the ceremonies, due to large volumes of people and road closures at this time we are unable to operate in and around the Royal Palace and its temples – our experiences such as ‘City & Temples’ and visits to the ‘Royal Palace” will not operate over this period.

Please note that ALL our Thailand offices will remain open and fully operational during this period with the exception of Thursday 26 when they will close.

Destination Asia Thailand will closely monitor the situation and our Management and senior executive teams are on full alert and contactable on the following number: +66 81 864 2828, or via email on thailand@destination-asia.com
