Thai Cooking with a Twist at Bangkok Flower Market

This program has been specially designed for those wanting to cook classic Thai dishes – but not in any normal fashion! Many cooking schools now include market tours, but this one takes it to the next level, with the class actually located within Bangkok’s famous Flower Market! The exclusive location on a balcony overlooking the flower market allows for a truly unique experience.

The Flower Market is one of the largest fresh markets in Bangkok, selling flowers, fruits and vegetables every day. Where possible we will add edible flowers to the recipes to give them creative flair.

The class starts with an introduction to the ingredients before practicing chopping skills to create a Royal Thai appetizer known as Miang Khum. Literally this means; “single bite”, and is a combination of flavors wrapped in a single leaf.

During the program we also break for a chance to explore the colorful flower market to pick up some of the ingredients and taste some local snacks. During the day we learn how to prepare and make, local Thai salads, classics such as Pad Thai and delicious curries. And don’t be surprised if we dye the noodles purple using flower petals!

We will also serve some refreshing Thai drinks to accompany each dish including a few of our own signature creations using a wide variety of ingredients found at the market. If you have space at the end, then it’s on to dessert! During each menu item, our teacher shows ways to adapt each dish to cater to various dietary requirements – or adjust based on ingredients you can find at home.

Dishes may change based on season and availability.
