This half marathon taking place in Luang Prabang supports the Lao Friends Hospital for Children – a non-profit pediatrics hospital in the ancient town that provides free high quality and compassionate healthcare for Lao children. All proceeds from this race will go to this hospital. This year the race will take place on October 22 and hopes to exceed the amount of US$53,543 raised in 2016. Building upon the success in Cambodia, Friends Without A Border (Friends) built and opened Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) in 2015. LFHC provides free medical care to over 15,000 children annually. Patients and their families often travel long distances of up to 8 hours to receive the medical care available at LFHC. Every child is treated with compassionate, high-quality medical care, following the motto of “treat every patient as if your own child.” We recommend making reservations in Luang Prabang as early as possible for this period.
