Dancing Through the Eras at Yangon’s Secretariat Building

Built in 1890 during British colonial time, the former Secretariat office is one of Yangon’s most historically significant buildings, exemplifying the imposing Victoria-Colonial style architecture. Situated in the heart of the city and stretching over 14 acres, the office compound has been sealed off for many years and kept from public access.

Set in the elegant Victoria Grand Ballroom – one of the many function rooms within the Secretariat – guests can enjoy a lively evening of food and dance performances every Saturday and Sunday evening from 18:30 pm – 20:30 pm. Feast on traditional Myanmar dishes, mixed with European, Chinese and Indian delicacies while a 45-minute dance show entertains and informs through music, dance, and visuals, transporting you through the varied traditions that have been woven together in the development of Myanmar’s unique culture.
