Treading Lightly Across Indonesia

Guests looking for responsible travel options can now embark on an ecological and culturally-sensitive 17-day/16-night adventure with Destination Asia Indonesia. The responsible programme aims to contribute to a sustainable society and sustainable tourism by focusing on sustainable activities and products on offer in Indonesia, including green accommodation, sustainable activities, culturally sensitive immersions as well as community-supporting activities which result in a positive impact.

At Destination Asia, we strive to run our business along ethical lines, embracing the three pillars of sustainability: economic, social and environmental, and endeavour to maximize the positive benefits received by local communities as a result of our presence, while minimizing any negative impacts. Whenever possible, we work with local partners and suppliers who share our philosophy and actively monitor their business practices and services.

The programme starts in Yogyakarta, where guests will be greeted by our Destination Asia staff equipped with drinking water in recyclable glass bottles and biodegradable refreshment towels made from bamboo fibre. Make your way from Yogyakarta to the city of Malang and Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java. Travel by train to Ijen before taking a ferry to explore the natural wonders of the island of Bali in Munduk, Ubud and Seminyak.
