Two of the leading MICE destinations in Asia, Singapore and Thailand are showing exceptional signs of recovery as entry requirements are removed for fully vaccinated travelers and the pent-up demand for business travel is met with enticing incentives. These two countries are leading the way in providing support to execute regional or international events and have not been shy in promoting their respective destinations as open for MICE business. This has led to the publication of a busy calendar of events by STB and TCEB for the remainder of 2022 going into 2023, a situation shared by Destination Asia as we work closely with national and public organizations to provide essential support and event services.
Destination Asia offices in both Singapore and Thailand continue to receive outstanding lead volume and requests, which supports the sentiment that business is back, and recovery is well underway. In preparation, the local teams have been developing new products and undergoing regular training to ensure service levels match the mantra of always ‘exceeding expectations’.
TCEB and STB have rolled out several exciting initiatives to support international events and encourage business back to their destinations. STB has activated INSPIRE Global 2.0 that provides some great value-add elements which the Destination Asia team in Singapore can help activate and direct on.
A solid list of international events is confirmed over the next three years, including those such as, IASEA, Rotary International Convention, Design Fair Asia, Worldchefs Congress, and Lions Club International Convention.
TCEB announced ‘Meet the Magic of MICE in Thailand’ at IMEX Frankfurt 2022, showcasing the country’s ability to offer local charm blended with modern technology under various themes. A number of these themes can already be found in products offered by our team in Thailand, with several of them featuring in an award-winning program from the ‘Creative Routing Contest’ held by TCEB at Thai MICE Connect.
Thailand has secured several events for late 2022 including the Global Summit of Women, Unicity 2022 Conference, APEC Summit, Travel Blog Exchange, and ICFP conference.
We expect 2023 and 2024 to be very strong years for both Singapore and Thailand as the MICE industry moves through its recovery. Our teams are on-hand and ready to help plan your next event in Asia – get in touch now to discover how we can exceed expectations.
