Preserving Local Traditions in Laos and Cambodia
Garavek is a traditional storytelling experience with the aim of promoting and preserving local traditional stories. Othe concept was originally founded in Luang Prabang where Garavek present a selection of traditional stories at their theatre. They will soon be opening an intimate new theatre in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The stories are traditional Khmer and told in English by an experienced local storyteller, with the same live musical accompaniment which local children have been enjoying the tales for generations. Whether you’re interested in the ancient legends of Khmer kings, the mythical origins of Angkor, or simply want to hear the rib-tickling tales of local Southeast Asian tricksters, Garavek is the place for you! Private shows can be arranged at the theatre or at your hotel.
