Walk with us: Natural Encounters

Walk on the wild side in Cambodia

A trekking tour is a fantastic way to explore what the Cambodia countryside has to offer and connect with nature. An experienced driver collects guests from their hotel in an authentic Army Jeep which is the main vehicle used during this adventure. Departing early in the morning for Kbal Spean (which translates as “Head Bridge” referring to the natural stone bridge at the head of the river), we take back roads through the countryside, passing small villages that afford stunning views of Phnom Bok Mountain.

Before arriving at Kbal Spean you will stop at the ACCB (Angkor Centre for Conservation and Bio-diversity) where a guide will escort you around the conservation park. Here it is possible to discover endangered species and wild animals that have been taken from poachers and are now being rehabilitated in order to return to the wild. Then it is time for some hiking at Kbal Spean. The winding track takes approximately one hour to one hour thirty to complete. It is a beautiful path leading through the jungle before arriving to Kbal Spean waterfalls

Following lunch we descend along the same trail and climb back into the Jeep for a short ride to visit Banteay Srey Temple. Banteay Srey or ‘the Woman’s Citadel’ is a tiny, enchanting temple and one of the jewels of Angkor.
