Adrenalin-Fuelled Dragon Boat Racing in Singapore

MICE Singapore 700x459Destination Asia Singapore can organize the traditional ‘Riding The Dragon in the Lion City’. On the day, participants are divided into respective teams of 10 or 20 and the entire gathering is further divided into two halves. The first half will undergo their dragon boating drill as well as qualifying rounds, while the second half remain onshore to learn about tying and steaming bamboo-leaf wrapped meat dumplings. This is a Chinese delicacy closely linked with the Dragon Boat Festival.

A dragon boat is a human-powered boat traditionally made of teak wood. The activity starts from the rustic shores of Kallang River, paddling the boats out across the waters of nearby Marina Bay. Here participants can enjoy stunning views of modern Singapore, including the iconic Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands – the ideal location for a memorable group photo opportunity! At half-time, the two halves will then swap activities. The adrenaline action culminates with the finals race at the end to determine the top three teams. A medal prize-giving ceremony, celebratory drinks and plenty of camaraderie concludes this fun and exciting group activity in the Lion City.
