New pre-arrival declaration introduced in Ho Chi Minh City from April 2026

From 15 April, new procedures have been introduced for international arrivals at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, aimed at streamlining the immigration process and reducing congestion at the airport.

Passengers arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport are now encouraged to complete a pre-arrival information declaration before landing. This can be done online via the official immigration portal or by scanning a QR code available upon arrival at the airport. Once submitted, a QR code confirmation will be issued via email or displayed on screen, which must be presented at the immigration counter. This declaration applies to:

  • Foreign passport holders and
  • Overseas Vietnamese entering Vietnam with a valid visa

While the option to complete the declaration on arrival remains available, authorities strongly recommend submitting the form in advance to avoid potential delays at immigration. This update reflects Vietnam’s continued efforts to enhance the arrival experience for international visitors, making travel processes more efficient while supporting the country’s growing tourism sector.
