Travellers planning a trip to Singapore should mark their calendars for National Day on 9 August. On this day, the nation’s renowned colour, diversity and excitement reaches new heights. The festivities don’t end there, with a series of five heartland celebrations taking place on 10 August.
The centerpiece of this celebration, the National Day Parade, will once again be held at the historic open space, Padang. The parade features a dynamic defense display, showcasing the Singapore armed forces, police force, and civil defense force working alongside community members to demonstrate their emergency response capabilities. The event also includes a military tattoo, spontaneous song and dance performances, art events, and, of course, a spectacular fireworks display.
The festivities continue the following day and embrace the whole of the island with the heartland celebrations including a carnival atmosphere, family fun and a mesmerising fireworks display! To get fully immersed in the experience, visitors are invited to wear clothes in the national colours of red and white.
