Destination Asia DMC Selected by Tourism Authority of Thailand (London) to Provide Travel Services for Media Group Visiting Phuket

Selected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to manage all in-destination services, Destination Asia has just completed an eight-day tailor-made experience on the island of Phuket, Thailand for five media representatives and the director of TAT London. This is the first overseas TAT group to visit Phuket since opening under the Sandbox scheme in early July.

Chosen for our in-depth knowledge of the island, exceptional attention to COVID-19 safety, and flexibility in managing last-minute changes, we worked alongside Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA plus) to ensure a smooth and safe experience.

Following the return of negative tests on arrival, the group quickly delved into the wonders of Phuket, complete with refillable Destination Asia water bottles and one of our most experienced local guides. From the early hours on day two, the group made their way into Phuket’s hillsides to visit Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. Over the course of the next seven days, they walked the stunning and colourful streets of Phuket Old Town sampling local delicacies such as ‘moo hong pork stew’, and visited a small community that makes their living through fishing and agriculture, allowing visitors to try their hand at such eco-friendly pastimes.

Other highlights that have become talking points included a private yacht trip to Racha Yai Island, a Thai cooking class, and of course, a must-do, an afternoon spent at a tropical spa retreat.
