Digital Arrival Card Requirement for Foreign Travelers to Malaysia

On December 1, the Immigration Department of Malaysia announced all international travelers heading to Malaysia must now complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before their arrival.

The MDAC card should be filled out within three days before arriving in Malaysia. All travellers should prepare a printed copy of the completed form to present at the immigration counter upon arrival. The immigration officer will verify the form along with the traveller’s passport which should be valid for at least six months from the travel date. Exceptions to this requirement are outlined on the Immigration Department’s MDAC website, specifying that only Malaysia’s permanent residents, Malaysia Automated Clearance System pass holders, and those transiting or transferring through Singapore without seeking immigration clearance are exempted.

Travelers must provide personal details such as their name, nationality, passport information, and arrival and departure dates on the MDAC website. Access the website here: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main
