Get Active in Kokol Hill and Kiulu Valley

Kokol Hill is a beautiful highland region, covered in jungle and morning mists. It’s located a short drive from Kota Kinabalu, between Menggatal and Inanam about 25km north of the city. Perched 800 meters above sea level, its main peak overlooks the surround valleys, city and islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. While agriculture is the main source of livelihood for local communities in Kiulu Valley, there is a growing number of adventurous options, particularly in Kiulu Valley, to choose from that will make any stay all the more memorable. These include; white water rafting, wall climbing, ziplines, trekking, quad biking, fishing and even farming itself.

For those who really want to experience the outdoors, camping is available along the riverside with space to enjoy an evening or lunchtime BBQ. For those staying closer to Kokol Hill, paragliding has become a favoured activity. There are a number of accommodation options both in the valley and on the hill, from resorts to farmstay and charming chalets.
