At Destination Asia Cambodia our ethos is to connect visitors to the beauty of Cambodia on a personal level, providing the opportunity to connect with its people and culture. On our full-day village discovery experience each guest will engage with the village community, as they drive in the open air down rugged country lanes to explore rural landscapes scattered with ancient Khmer relics and historical remnants. This way we avoid the crowds and connect with Cambodia on a far more intrinsic level.
A remork (local type of tuk-tuk) collects guests from their hotel to kick-start the day. Following a safety briefing we head out with professional guides into the heart of the Cambodian countryside, passing farmers at work in their rice fields and craftsmen weaving palm leaves outside their shophouses. We also include the chance to jump on an ox-cart for a ride around the village before boarding a boat to cruise through a nearby floating village. Our program provides an excellent introduction to Cambodia and the local way of living – ideal for those visiting for the first time or returning travelers who have only seen the major sites of interest and want to learn more about daily life.
