Destination Asia Approved to Use World Travel & Tourism Council Safe Travels Stamp

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) produced global Safe Travels protocols, designed to help to rebuild confidence among travellers, and within the sector, so safe travel can resume once restrictions are eased. They provide consistency, as well as guidance to travel providers, operators and travellers, about the new approach to health & hygiene in the post COVID-19 world. Destination Asia has received approval to use the stamp as our own set of new operating standards for travel in Asia post COVID-19 are in line with the core global protocol requirements set by WTTC.

The specially designed stamp named ‘Safe Travels’ allows travellers to recognise companies around the world which have adopted and implemented these health and hygiene global standardised protocols.

The protocols take into account World Health Organisation (WHO), the US’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) guidelines. The objective is to ensure that protocols are in place across all relevant functions with an increased focus on health, hygiene, and reduction of physical contact guidance which travellers will need and expect to embrace a safe travel experience.

Each of the Safe Travels protocols has four pillars:
1. Operational and Staff Preparedness
2. Ensuring a Safe Experience
3. Rebuilding Trust & Confidence
4. Implementing Enabling Policies
