The Christmas lights started twinkling on Singapore’s bustling Orchard Road in mid-November and the Great Christmas Village returns to Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from Dec 7 to Jan 2 after a two-year break. A wander through the Village reveals fairground rides, live music and lots of food and drink choices.
This year marks the 39th iteration of the annual Orchard Road Christmas light-up. Also returning is a 10-minute multimedia 3D projection show with AR (augmented reality), taking place each night from 7pm to 10pm, on the facade of the Mandarin Gallery facing Ngee Ann City. And for the first time, there’s a further multimedia projection featuring a specially curated Christmas show with a visual spectacle of past light-ups, a multi-tiered rotating carousel, a spinning Ferris wheel, arcade games and an AR firework display.
Last but not least, this is definitely the place to be for the Christmas Day countdown clock and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
