Table décor with a cultural twist in Japan

Challenges and outcome: The client requested a sustainable alternative to fresh floral décor for the gala dinner, with a special emphasis on reflecting Japanese culture and the authentic spirit of Kyoto, a city renowned for its geisha heritage. What could have been a creative challenge quickly became an opportunity for our team to craft something truly unique. Drawing inspiration from the welcome night, which featured a geisha performance, we replaced traditional floral decorations with bespoke geisha dolls, creating a meaningful connection between the two evenings. Each guest received a handcrafted doll as a personal keepsake, a lasting reminder of their time in Japan.

Our strong supplier relationships also allowed us to secure a special pre-dinner garden walk at Kitayama Monolith, a rare privilege not typically permitted. This exclusive access added a sense of anticipation and intimacy to the evening, setting the tone for what became a truly memorable event.

The client praised the team’s creativity, attention to detail, and ability to deliver a seamless, culturally rich experience, describing the Kyoto gala as one of the most beautifully executed events they had ever hosted.
