A Complete Manga Immersion

Asia-Talk-japan-mangaThe Kyoto International Manga Museum was opened in November 2006, consisting of three floors and a basement, with almost all of its walls lined with shelves of manga. Even if you aren’t a fan of manga – it is certainly worth a visit just to see this massive collection. A small section of the books is dedicated to foreign and translated manga, but the vast majority is in original Japanese text.

In addition, the museum focuses on both the adoption and development of manga internationally. Works of international manga artists are featured and manga related events at the museum often involve foreign artists. The Manga Museum also features exciting temporary exhibitions on various themes. Please note that this tour operates with a private guide and we make use of Kyoto’s efficient local transit system to reach the museum.
