Chiang Rai Matures As MICE Destination

Destination Focus_Thailand700x459Chiang Rai offers excellent incentive travel options with Destination Asia Thailand delivering unique MICE opportunities in this region of Northern Thailand.

To ensure smooth management of operations, we recommend maximum group sizes of 100 pax for travel around Chiang Rai. Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa, Le Meridien Chiang Rai and Dusit Island Resort are capable of accommodating such group sizes. There are excellent luxury accommodation options such as the Four Seasons Tented Camp though numbers are limited by the total of 15 tents.

Meeting facilities are also available at Anantara, Le Meridien and Dusit Island. Of these options the Dusit offers the largest function room with space for up to 700 guests. Anantara delivers a more relaxed option with smaller rooms in a natural setting and wide outdoor terraces overlooking the surrounding mountains – making it a superb choice for cocktail events.

For gala dinners within an impressive setting, Destination Asia Thailand can arrange an evening within the picturesque botanical gardens of Mae Fah Luang Art & Cultural Park, home to the Royal Collection of Lanna Art. Dining events can also be held at the esteemed Kua Silapa Restaurant. Serving Thai and international food the restaurant is run by a group of artists, functioning as both a gallery and restaurant.

Other incentive experiences include trekking in the Golden Triangle area, tri-shaw rides in groups around the city to view sites of interest and evening excursions to the night bazaar. This region of Thailand also offers excellent elephant trekking opportunities that can be coupled with long tail boat rides along the Mar Kok River to visit local hill tribes.

Chiang Rai is accessible by road from Chiang Mai, taking approximately 3.5 hours. Direct flights depart daily and take 1 hour from Bangkok to Chiang Rai International Airport.
