The Destination Asia Cambodia team recently set off on a multi-day FAM trip designed to enhance product knowledge, build supplier relationships, and deepen firsthand understanding of Cambodia’s evolving hospitality and experience landscape.
In Phnom Penh, the team conducted property inspections at several leading venues, including Raffles, Rosewood, and Palace Gate Hotel. A visit to La Rose Suites, which operates in partnership with the Pour un Sourire d’Enfant NGO, offered valuable insight into socially responsible hospitality initiatives supporting Cambodian youth.
The team also explored unique additions to the capital’s premium food and beverage scene, including a tour and tasting at the locally rooted Seekers Spirits gin distillery and dinner at Pisa Old Market, a new Khmer fine dining concept by Chef Sothea Seng.
Crossing the Mekong, the journey continued to Silk Island, a peaceful destination that preserves traditional ways of life and offers potential for immersive, low-impact guest experiences. In Kampot, the team visited one of the region’s renowned pepper farms and spent time with the Fish Island Community Centre, an organisation offering meaningful guest interactions that reflect Destination Asia’s core values.
Each stop provided new insights into venues, communities, and suppliers our partners can connect with. This hands-on journey has equipped our team with deeper destination knowledge and further strengthened their ability to design authentic, impactful programs in Cambodia.
Finally, the team reached Kep West for an exquisite seafood barbecue on the beach. Refreshed and rejuvenated, the team are back at work now, ready to make the coming year even more amazing.
