In October, the Michelin Guide marked a significant milestone by introducing its first-ever Michelin Key classifications in Indonesia, recognising 33 exceptional hotels and resorts across the country. The new distinctions celebrate excellence in design and architecture, service and comfort, as well as a strong sense of authenticity, character and value.
At the highest level, three resorts were awarded the coveted three Michelin Keys: Mandapa in Ubud, Nihi Sumba on Sumba Island, and Amanjiwo in Central Java. A further six properties received two Keys, while 24 hotels and resorts were recognised with one Key, highlighting the depth and diversity of Indonesia’s luxury hospitality offering.
To mark this landmark recognition, Destination Asia Indonesia has curated two exclusive journeys, each thoughtfully designed around Michelin Key properties and paired with immersive, destination-led experiences.
Lavish Wonders of Bali, Sumba & Komodo is a 17-day journey through Ubud, Sumba, Komodo and Uluwatu, combining stays at Mandapa and Nihi Sumba – both recipients of three Michelin Keys- with Bulgari Resort Bali, recognised with one Key. The itinerary blends refined accommodation with extraordinary natural and cultural encounters across Indonesia’s most iconic landscapes.
Java to Bali: A Tale of Luxury & Romance is a 13-day journey designed for couples, celebrating love in some of Indonesia’s most enchanting settings. Highlights include a glamorous picnic in a hidden paradise with Moët & Chandon and a private day cruise to Nusa Lembongan. Accommodation throughout features Michelin Key properties, including Amanjiwo (three Keys), Amankila (two Keys) and Garrya Bianti (one Key), creating a seamless progression of romance, privacy, and understated luxury.
