Staying in the protected rainforest of Batukaru Nature Reserve, guests can trek through the lush green jungle that rapidly grows owing to humid onshore winds. Mammoth sized trees tower overhead, rising into the mists that hang in the tropical air. The forest is home to an abundance of flora and fauna that can be closely observed during a morning trek. In the afternoon there is an opportunity to dress in traditional Balinese costume and take part in a ceremony performed by a local priest. Taking place in a hidden jungle temple – the ceremony will be a once in a lifetime experience for many travellers.
Continuing with the outdoor theme, home for the night is the Sang Giri mountain tent resort, nestled in the cool mountains of Jatiluwih – a world heritage site surrounded by captivating mountains. With only eight deluxe tents, complete with en suite toilets and private terraces, every guest can relax in solitude and peace while admiring stunning views across Bali.
