Meet Toan Tran, Events Expert in Vietnam

We recently sat down with Toan Tran, MICE Manager at Destination Asia Vietnam, to gain personal insight into what makes Vietnam a great choice for events. With 16 years at Destination Asia, Toan brings a wealth of experience and strong industry relationships, ensuring every event is flawlessly executed and tailored to each client’s needs.

What makes Vietnam ideal for extraordinary events?

Vietnam combines a rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural landscapes, and modern event infrastructure. From the historic charm of Hanoi and Hoi An to the energy and modern spaces of Ho Chi Minh City, the country offers diverse and unique settings with warm hospitality, a wide variety of venues catering to various group types. A strong network of suppliers and contacts allows us to create one-of-a-kind events that can align with your company values, to create truly exceptional memories.

How does Vietnam’s infrastructure impact events?

Over the past decade, Vietnam has completed delivered a well-connected and efficient transportation system that includes modern highways, wide roads, and well-connected airports in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, making it easier than ever for attendees to travel both into the country and efficiently between cities and venues.

How can groups connect with local communities in Vietnam?

We can connect our partners and attendees directly to various community-building projects and social welfare initiatives, or partner with local NGOs to assist with wider causes. Teams can participate in environmental initiatives such as making soap and multipurpose cleaners from recycled materials in Hoi An, to building bikes for less privileged communities, or working on home repair projects in Da Nang. We can also deliver events with a central theme of local community, such as our rice field event in Hoi An that was based and built around a living rice field and farm.

What are the current trends you’re seeing in Vietnam?

Sustainability as a common theme throughout the event is more popular than ever, which is great to see. We can now off more eco-friendly venues, social and environmental practices to boost communities, and zero-waste events. Green transportation options are being introduced including electric vehicles for tours and transfers. By staying in touch with local suppliers, attending industry events, and engaging with sustainability experts, we make sure our offerings remain up-to-date and aligned with our client’s requirements.

What exclusive events does Destination Asia Vietnam offer?

We offer a range of exclusive experiences that are not available to the general public, such as private gala dinners in unique locations including a cave near Halong Bay, an intimate dinner set in the serene rice paddies of Hoi An, a private dining experience at the History Museum in Hanoi or an exclusive event at the former Presidential Palace in Saigon. Additionally, all of our events are fully customisable, offering flexibility in timing and services to suit the needs of each group. We can also arrange for local experts and renowned chefs to guide guests, ensuring an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience tailored to their interests and values.
