Reaching Communities in Need During Malaysia’s MCO 3.0

Following the government’s announcement of a nationwide Movement Control Order 3.0 (MCO), a voluntary team in Moyog, Sabah, activated three emergency food bank centres. For two consecutive weeks, Assistant Manager from the Destination Asia Borneo Office, Tony Henry, lead a team of volunteers tasked with packing and distributing food supplies to members of the community.

Each package consisted of a 5 or 10kg packet of rice, canned food, instant noodles, cooking oil, coffee, sugar, and light snacks. More than 8,000 households received these supplies, lessening the burden of staying at home and helping curb the spread of COVID-19 in the process.
