This international incentive trip is offered annually in Germany, but this was the first time Singapore was chosen as the venue. The organisers initially contacted the Singapore Tourism Board and we were delighted to be recommended to manage the trip. A representative from Germany flew over for several pre-event meetings and some intensive brainstorming with us, to create an experience that would truly deliver a wow factor.
The highlight of the event was a “progressive dinner”. The 700 guests had to be picked up from various hotels and taken on a magical mystery tour to a series of spectacular venues, offering different, uniquely Singaporean modes of transport and a range of world-class cuisines.
The first stop was a round of drinks and canapes at an iconic rooftop restaurant where guests could enjoy Singapore’s legendary million-dollar view. From there we moved on to a champagne reception on the Singapore Flyer, the city’s famous big wheel attraction. Then it was all aboard a fleet of Singapore’s charming bumboats to another iconic setting at the world-famous Gardens by the Bay.
Guests sat down for a main course here in the venue’s stunning Flower Field Hall, then were invited outside for dessert, more cocktails and spectacular entertainment with light shows, a band, and an appearance from a renowned Grammy-winning artist. The party went on into the small hours, then the guests were whisked back to their hotels.
It’s safe to say the clients were thrilled – so thrilled, in fact, that they invited the Destination Asia team for a “thank you” gathering with champagne at the Ritz-Carlton.
