In this exceptional experience, guests are invited to dine on classic Balinese delicacies, alongside a Balinese royal family. The event takes place in the Gianyar Regency at a historic 16th– century Balinese palace, which is designed on the age-old Tri Mandala concept, with its grounds divided into dedicated segments, including a breathtaking merajan garden for meditation.
On arrival, guests are presented with sarongs and sashes, a traditional kebaya blouse for women and an udeng headdress for men, which serves as an appropriate introduction to the richness of Balinese culture. From there, the guests partake in an ancient lukat geni cleansing ritual before being ushered into the palace for a welcome drink and a greeting from a member of the royal family. It’s a thrilling way to be treated to insights into the history of the palace and its central role in shaping the community in bygone eras.
Then it’s time for the main event – an indulgent Rajalaya-style round table feast, hosted by one of the royals. As the evening unfolds, there’s a mesmerising ritual dance performed by a local community collective, showcasing Bali’s vibrant culture and artistic heritage in a spectacle that’s truly enchanting.
