We’re thrilled to announce that Destination Asia has received the 2024 Pacific Asia Travel Association Gold Award for Women Empowerment, recognising our commitment to empowering marginalised women in Bali.

Since 2016, we’ve been collaborating with Bali WISE to provide essential workplace training and financial support. This initiative equips young women with the practical knowledge and skills needed to secure employment in the hospitality and travel industries. A total of 16 young women have been sponsored through the program and several are now full-time, valued team members at Destination Asia Indonesia.

Twice a week, educational courses are led by Destination Asia Indonesia’s HR Manager that provide the attendees with comprehensive training on basic labour laws and how to explore available career options. Then there’s practical coaching on applying for jobs, conducting interviews and understanding what prospective employers are looking for. These sessions feature “real world” simulated job interviews, which the students have found an invaluable confidence booster.
