Originally conceived as a ritual to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Singapore’s Chingay Parade has transformed into a vibrant annual tradition since 1973, showcasing the essence of Singapore itself.
Scheduled for the weekend of 7-8 February 2025, this spectacular event features dazzling street celebrations, intricate masquerade costumes, and a grand procession of elaborate floats. It serves as a platform to highlight Singapore’s rich multicultural heritage, with participants from diverse backgrounds—including Chinese, Malay, Indian, Eurasian, and more—coming together to celebrate their shared identity and pride.
Over the decades, Chingay has grown into one of Asia’s largest and most iconic events. It is a joyous celebration created by the people, for the people, transcending age, race, language, and creed, as everyone unites to revel in Singapore’s unique spirit of harmony and diversity.
