Mekong River View Hotel to Add Organic Cooking School

The charming boutique Mekong Riverview Hotel located on the tip of the peninsula in Luang Prabang is undergoing a number of changes. Their most recent addition is the Palm Tree Health Spa, offering fully trained professional therapists and a brand new salt-water swimming pool. The health center also accommodates for activities such as badminton and weight training.

The organic garden we shall also be building our much anticipated cooking school. The cooking classes will be held across the Mekong River at our scenic Organic Garden, where you will be using the freshest ingredients.  The popularity of cooking classes across South East Asia has proven to be exceptionally high, and to be able to offer our very own is really exciting for us. By being able give our guests the opportunity to cook right where the very ingredients that they are using are grown, and with stunning views across and along the Mekong, we aim to create the ultimate cooking school experience in Luang Prabang.

Over the last year the hotel has been developing an outdoor area into a sustainable organic garden, producing fresh produce for use at the hotel restaurant. The vegetables, fruits and herbs planted last year are now transforming the land. Plans are also underway to open a private cooking school, where guests can learn to cook traditional Laos dishes that they have grown to love during their time in Luang Prabang. As a completely organic garden, the hotel’s main focus is on understanding the processes of nature and makeup of soil to deliver a sustainable model.
