Experience Angkor’s beauty with extended sunrise hours

The iconic UNESCO-listed Angkor temples in Siem Reap now offer extended opening hours, with Angkor Wat welcoming visitors as early as 5:00 am and other sites opening from 6:00 am, staying accessible until sunset around 6:30 pm.

With these extended hours, visitors can take advantage of the earlier start to experience the temples at their most majestic and serene in the moments just before dawn. Seeing the sun rise over the ornate structures, gently clearing the overnight mist, is a truly unforgettable sight. Plus, the cooler, quieter early hours provide a more relaxed and comfortable touring experience.

The temple at Ta Prohm is one of the area’s less visited sites but an early morning trip here is absolutely unmissable. The sandstone buildings appear to glow with a magical golden light and the amazing vistas are serenaded by the heavenly sound of chirping parakeets.

Taking advantage of the new hours may mean getting up a little early, but it’s a decision that won’t be regretted.
