Angkor Restoration Work Continues

Significant restoration work continues within the Angkor Archaeological Park, including of the West Gate of Angkor Thom, and the East Gate of Pre Rup. With no crowds currently visiting due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the opportunity is being taken to restore these amazing temples to their full former glory.

The Apsara National Authority (ANA) and the International World Monuments Fund are the two key organisations behind the project. Last year the ANA also pledged to plant 110,000 trees in the Angkor area during the rainy season to improve the natural beauty of the region and provide environmental benefits.

Upon very special request, Destination Asia Cambodia can organize a special behind-the-scenes tour with an Archaeological expert to gain a deep insight into the park’s restoration work.
