Artistic Event Space at Yangon’s Pansuriya Gallery

Asia Talk_Myanmar art galleryKori Cicero, our Myanmar Sales & Product Manager, recently visited Pansuriya Gallery in Yangon’s downtown area to meet with one of its young co-owners and manager. Pansuriya started life as a photo gallery and has developed into a family business with the support of Pansodan Gallery (the most prominent art space in Yangon). The venue is an old colonial building with a welcoming and cozy atmosphere where visitors can admire many photographs, paintings and handicrafts originating from Yangon – along with a selection of salads and curries to enjoy. The space is furnished with antiques restored by artisans from across the country, creating an ambiance of understated elegance. The purpose of this space is for locals, expats and travelers alike to feel welcome, enjoy local food and absorb the culture.

Destination Asia can arrange lunch or tea here for large or small groups as a break from walking around the downtown area. The space can also be privatized for special interest groups in the evening to enjoy a standing cocktail dinner in the heart of Old Yangon.
