Inle Horse Club is situated on Myin Sar Khun Village, just 10 mins by car from Nyaung Shwe and is owned by a local family. Mrs Ku Ku is a passionate keeper of horses with a vision to develop a sustainable tourism experience in Inle Lake that combines her love of horses with a desire to provide benefits for the local community.
The club offers a horseback riding experience that passes through Lwe Kin Village and seasonal plantations, revealing how villagers make cheroots (hand-made local cigar) from locally grown tobacco leaves. Another option is to ride to Red Mountain winery, passing through fields full of dragon fruit, sugar cane and sunflowers when in season. It is also possible for guests to feed and clean the horses under careful supervision. The club follows a policy of ‘One person, one horse & one tree’, as all tours include tree planting in the village or at the club. Drinks and snacks are available at their Family Café and is the ideal setting to view sunsets over the local pagoda and Shan hills. The Inle Horse Club program is an excellent optional tour for those clients who want to explore the Inle Lake region avoiding the use of motorized transport.
