The Ritz Carlton, Nikko is situated by Chuzenjiko Lake and is only a short distance from the UNESCO World heritage Nikko Toshogu shrine. Roku Kyoto, the first LXR in the Asia-Pacific region opened in 2021. It is located in Northern Kyoto close to Kinkakuji temple where visitors can immerse themselves in some of the world’s most spectacular natural surroundings. Roku actually has two meanings, ‘foot of a mountain’ and ‘traditional craft of making handmade Japanese paper’, both of which are entwined with the property. Guests can also make use of a thermal pool with views out to Kitayama cedar trees that change colour through the seasons.
