This year’s Orchid Extravaganza is set to take place from 26 July to 15 September and celebrate Singapore’s pop culture, with a creative spin on familiar icons as seen through the eyes of Singaporean singer-songwriter Dick Lee. Melding floral artistry and pop art, the orchid display in the Flower Dome features landmarks and objects that have become part of local culture.
From architecture to food, these themes have been given a lively makeover under the creative direction of Dick Lee and designer Yang Derong, to reflect Singapore’s unique blend of tradition and modernity. They are set within a colourful landscape of over 15,000 orchids, comprising more than 80 varieties including heritage orchids such as Aranthera Anne Black, Aranda Bertha Braga and Dendrobium Tay Swee Keng. Once inside guided tours are free, but regular admission charge to the Flower Dome applies.
