Step into the world of the geisha for a peek behind the mask. Meet a real life maiko on a full-day outing during which guests get to know the maiko and gain a deep appreciation of her exquisite beauty. More than that, each guest will be accompanied by a professional photographer who will guide and provide creative input on how to best photograph your beautiful subject.
Guests spend an hour meeting and greeting while enjoying Japanese tea before heading to a nearby temple for the first photo shoot of the day. After a one hour session shooting in the temple’s harmonious atmosphere, we will temporarily say goodbye to our lovely subject as she puts on her ‘mask’ for the evening. We reconvene around sunset for a second shoot on the back streets of Gion, also lasting an hour. Our shoot takes place out of sight of the prying eyes of passersby. Here you will meet your geisha in her full splendor as she walks the streets and poses in her full regalia in this relaxed environment.
