Singapore’s New Mandai Bird Paradise is Now Open

Back in March we brought you news that the popular Jurong Bird Park was spreading its wings and moving to a new venue. And here it is – Manai Bird Paradise, Asia’s largest bird enclave, with as many as 3,500 birds from 400 species living happily in their new home.

Here you’ll meet countless rare and exotic birds including the world’s largest population of hornbills under human care, with many of them flying free around the grounds.  A particular hit with some visitors is the Crimson Wetlands, home to some of the world’s most brilliantly coloured birds. Others make a beeline for Penguin Cove to marvel and enjoy the antics of these lovable creatures. But this is just a tiny sample of the amazing sights and sounds of the park’s eight magnificent walk-through aviaries.

Themed displays and presentations take place regularly and visitors can also opt for a keeper-led experience or take a “backstage pass” to discover what goes into caring for the birds.  The operators are deeply committed to sustainability and conversation, so they’re happy to show guests round the Avian Healthcare and Research Centre to see the veterinary team in action, and show them more of their numerous breeding programs, such as their work with Asian songbirds and threatened parrot species.
