With the end of another successful high season, our team treated itself to an eight-day familiarisation trip around Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Battambang, Cardamom, Kampong Chhnang, Koh Rong Islands, Kep and Sihanoukville.
This time was incredibly educational, as Cambodia continues to make giant strides and rapid progress in infrastructure, with new tollways and newly paved inter-city highways making travel between destinations in the south and centre quick and smooth.
New properties have opened or renovated, so there are now a lot more luxury travel options and the team took in the best of them. Properties that are already popular, such as Song Saa and Six Senses, are refreshing their rooms, Rosewood Phnom Penh is now fully open, Shinta Mani Wild is now accessible by road and most luxury properties now feature helicopter access for VIP transfers.
Our MICE team was especially impressed with the latest options in Phnom Penh, such as the new Sun & Moon Riverside, and took note of the excellent new options in transfers and thematic experiences.
Inspired by their trip, the team is now busily revising dining options and recommendations, as numerous venues for fine dining, European cuisine, local favourites and street eats have now re-opened or been enhanced and expanded following the pandemic.
