Sky Is The Limit For Bangkok’s Rooftop Bars

Rooftop bars and dining establishments provide a pleasant and precious escape from the cramped and humid street-scape that is Bangkok.

The narrow Banyan Tree Hotel and its casual Moon Bar induce a sense of queasiness for some as you step onto the 61st-floor deck to stunning, unhindered 360 degree views. A little closer to the river and you find the Le Bua, home to Sirocco restaurant that places greater emphasis on food, with an upscale Italian menu served against a backdrop of the river and the building’s iconic golden dome.

Central World in downtown Bangkok now offers two rooftop settings – Red Sky serves a selection of fine gastronomy with a wine bar on the 55th-floor, while Zense on the 17th floor of Zen department store is a something-for-everyone establishment. Those looking for slightly less expensive options are also spoilt for choice. Less elevated rooftop alternatives are ubiquitous throughout the city in areas such as Banglamphu and Sukhumvit. Phranakorn Bar is a favorite among in-the-know hipsters with a private panorama of the Golden Mount, while the Octave Rooftop Lounge at the Marriot Hotel on Sukhumvit 57 provides a mid-range choice.

Any of these impressive rooftop bars and restaurants can be privately booked for MICE functions, helping create an exclusive environment for guests.
