A recent opening ceremony for Anantara Resort and Spa in Luang Prabang marked the start of a construction project due for completion at the end of 2015.

The USD40 million project is located in Xiengkeo Village on the banks of the Mekong River and will comprise a five star resort containing over 100 rooms and 13 villas. A banquet hall suitable for large meetings and events has the capacity to cater for 400 people. Already known for their premium level of service and luxury offerings, Anantara Resort and Spa are confirming the strength of Laos and especially Luang Prabang as a tourism destination with their move into the market. Nestled amongst a mountainous landscape and perched on the river banks, guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring the surrounding area.
