The Illumination of the White Temple in Chiang Rai

Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, in Chiang Rai, is hosting the Wat Rong Khun Light Fest from 22 Nov to 22 December 2019. For the first time this year, the phenomenal festival employs over 100 laser projectors and 3D projection mapping techniques at Wat Rong Khun, under the concept of “The Illumination of the White Temple”, to illuminate architectural and art pieces all over the temple.

Wat Rong Khun Light Fest is the first-ever nighttime experience at Wat Rong Khun. The multimedia event will be co-hosted by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who has dedicated half of his life building the world-famous White Temple.  This beautiful, creative temple is famous for its unique white colour, fascinating artistic and modern mural paintings, and mosaics of silver and glass stones.

The 60-minute light show will take place twice per day, starting at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm, during which cameras are permitted. Regular seat tickets are priced at 400 baht, and 1,000 baht for VIP seats, to be booked directly online. Destination Asia Thailand can support all other logistics and hotel bookings to visit Chiang Rai and Wat Rung Khun during the festival period.
